It's hard to say whether the show I am thinking about takes place during the Baroque period, but Versailles no Bara has been on my list for a long time, but I haven't seen it yet. This shoujo series is about Oscar, a girl raised like a boy who eventually became a military commander. Oscar wants to live like other women but has to serve Marie Antoinette like a man would. I want to watch it someday, but for whatever reason have put it off. I am not sure if Rose of Versailles is what you were looking for, but I feel like this show is worth a mention. I would also be interested in an animu/manga that was about a Baroque composer.
