I'll be uploading one volume a day around this hour, please look forward to it
That's it for today

One thing I really like about really early SBR is that Araki still generally uses the late Stone ocean style, but in panels like the one showing Mountain Tim you can clearly see what he's striving for art-wise so I enjoy it even more when he eventually gets there in mid/late SBR.
Also, here's the Gyro doodle without editor's blogpost

I wondered what the fuck those things on Gyro's face but after a while I realized it was just how he styles his beard. Almost makes me want to try that out too. Also, that panel where Gyro is looking down is amazing, I love how that one turned out

I fucking hate women. And Johnny was being a cunt, too

I think chapter one was an interesting start to the story, and the premise is pretty interesting. There is a lot of money to win, and the Western setting makes it seem shady. I feel sorry for Johnny for being crippled. I wonder what he has up his sleeves. That being said, there are obvious character flaws in Johnny. It is interesting how deadset Johnny is on learning and ultimately winning. This Abdul fellow failed quickly which sucks for him. I am looking forward to the future volumes of this.
Although I appreciate your effort to try something new, I think it would be unrealistic to do one volume a day.The most people participating would be great, but some people are not the fastest. Also, I think everyone knows where this manga can be found, so posting the whole volume is redundant.

What do you propose, one volume every two days?
>Also, I think everyone knows where this manga can be found, so posting the whole volume is redundant
The point of a readalong is posting it here and talking about the stuff at hand when it's posted, it's not just a thread to talk about the manga
I'll leave it here for today. I'll change the dumping to 2 chapters a day.

Checked.
Why not just dump a volume every week so that the conversation doesn't get lost from you dumping stuff here every day? A read along should be fine but you should honestly just dump the entire thing or plan it out honestly and if you see that it isn't generating any discussion maybe abstain from dumping until there is any. Also I'm not saying that you didn't but for future reference if you aren't willing to discuss your own thoughts about each volume you are posting then don't bother doing this at all. It would probably make sense with the allowed file size to also increase the amount of files one can post up to 8-10 or something.

Gyro on page 25 reminded me of this Stone ocean panel.

>if you aren't willing to discuss your own thoughts about each volume you are posting then don't bother doing this at all
I read every chapter when I finish dumping. i believe there's almost nothing to discuss in volume one because it's just a setup for the story and any questions one may have will obviously be answered later. Also, I prefer not to talk about the mango on the dump posts themselves and only talk about the pages by replying to them, that's why I only talk about the dump itself when I post images.
>Why not just dump a volume every week so that the conversation doesn't get lost from you dumping stuff here every day?
I believe one volume every week is too short. Every volume is at most a 40 minute read to me, so 2 chapters would be much less. If I were to post too scarcely it would be too drawn out, especially for a manga like this
>>224
The key is to strike a balance between keeping the content flowing and not overwhelming the discussion. A weekly schedule might seem slow to you, but for some it might be the right pace. If you find a single volume per week too slow, maybe a compromise could be 3-7 volumes? It's important to note, though, that if you're posting every day but no discussion is generated, it could give off the impression that you're trying to stay on top of the bump order on /all/, which might not be your intention. It's a fine line to walk, especially on a smaller altchan where the focus is on quality discussion over quantity. Imagine if there were 10 threads like this - interesting discussions would be punished to the next page, which isn't ideal. It's an unlikely scenario, but something worth considering. What do you think?

Honestly I've never liked the way Araki began to draw nose lines around part 5 and 6. It looks pretty bad to me. Around part 4 and 3 he used to do numerous thin lines that would look really good. Around part 5, and especially on part 6, he began doing thicker lines that don't really look like a shadow at all and just look weird. You can see him experimenting with panels where the characters don't have them (picrel cropped from that page) and it just looks a lot better.

2 chapters a day is generally less than 3 volumes a week so I'm going even slower than your proposal right now
>Imagine if there were 10 threads like this - interesting discussions would be punished to the next page, which isn't ideal
/a/ has always been one of the slower boards but right now it's dead, and I'm willing to bet my balls no one is going to do one of these in a long time after I finish.
