i originally watched the dub, the problem i had personally was that it felt wrong, sure it was funny but its like looking at a painting that was drawn over.
fun fact, behind satsuki in the opening to the anime is gashadokuro, i remember reading about him for the first time in a storybook for children, although his origins was warped to where it was about a boy fighting him off.
i find it weird that japanese urban legends are appearing all at once like hanako san, kubinashi rider and i find it equally strange that dogfaced man made an appearance, i thought he only harassed drunk salarymen? (although to be fair that might have been the modern verson of the tale that i heard)
i am unsure, perhaps it'll be elaborated on later.
so far episode one reminds me of an old 80's horror sitcom. it was pretty enjoyable to me.
another thing i like is how the voice actors sound their age, unlike the dub. i still find it funny that the cat was possesed and nothing has changed, just typical cat behaviour such as a lust for evil and deep contempt for humanity, as all cats do. the spirits i don"t recognise are amanojaku, and teke-teke. with teke-teke i think they fucked up because they potrayed it as a bald ghost thing but from what i understand from a quick google search she's supposed to look like a schoolgirl cut in half. with hanako i find it funny that momoko would fucking summon hanako which is the LAST THING a sane person would do, its like me walking into a haunted house and summoning bloody mary. i thought it was funny that hanako was friendly.
