Presenting to you one of the most legendary source materials on Nico Nico Douga... You know him as the Unreal Gamer, Angry German Kid (AGK), or Der Echte Gangster but in Japan he was known under the alias Keyboard Crusher (KBC, shorted to Crusher sometimes) Kibokura, Kikura, and German-made VOCALOID.
This thread will evolve around sharing, translating, and discussing KBC videos, and any other stuff relating to KBC from Nico Nico Douga.
The oldest surviving video ever uploaded of him to Nico Nico Douga which was a very early time on there when Nico Nico Douga initially enabled uploading videos to the website: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm167 [Play] in which basically everything that he said in his very aggressive German voice was misheard as something completely else in Japanese which was a factor in spawning tons of MADs, specifically otoMADs (Sound MAD(Movie Animation Douga(Video)s), around this guy which was partly responsible for pretty much leading the MAD space on Nico Nico Douga forward. He was especially popular for how his keyboard smashing sounds were remixed in videos.
I have included a full translation of those misheard quotes + Romaji subtitles in the initial video but do note that a lot of the mishearings are left up to interpretation and can be misheard as something completely else by other users (some of them are my interpretations).
Translation note: If you are wondering about what m9(^Д^)プギャー is supposed to be think of it as a Kaomoj of a index finger being pointed at you. it can also be written as 「m9っ」 or 「m9つ」 where 「つ」 signifies extending the thumb. Pugyah signifies mockery which evolved possibly from 「ぷぷぷ」 (pupupu). The full Kaomoj basically came to fruition when the 2channel's News Flash VIP was established in 2004.
I have no clue what the misheard phrase "Is created Hoimafu, Rose?" is supposed to mean but it's supposed to be super popular so If you have any idea I would appreciate it.
Believe it or not but the first ever otoMAD ever uploaded to Nico Nico Douga was a KBC video: https://nicovideo.jp/watch/sm662 [Play] though if you wondering what the first ever otoMAD that was created was it was Ogino House back in 2004: https://youtu.be/-FcLjBE0wZY [Play]
A lot of the KBC MADs usually come in different styles like using subtitles that aren't part of the misheard version or creating story based videos where KBC plays some kind of game and usually the story based ones often conclude with bad endings, such as the computer freezing or Crusher losing the game.
There are also videos where they reverse the footage to create even more potential mishearings a few popular ones being "EIRIN EIRIN" and "Haruhi" https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm23692618 [Play] and yes those are also used in otoMADs.
I will include in this post a few popular otoMADs from KBC that you might have even come across if you browsed Youtube back a decade and a half ago.
