I wanna know what the 22chan populous listens to! perhaps post a song a day or otherwise every time you visit. And be sure to discuss posted tracks with conviction!!! Here's hoping for eventual youtube embeds. I'll Start:

Corporeal Face: To Make It

The drums in this are addictive and I love how every part is distinct in that no two sections sound exactly the same. I listen to a lot of drum & bass and acid techno, not exactly the same, but this is definitely my favorite track of its kind

I stumbled upon this band while browsing Wikipedia.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqYOTBgliuM&list=PLs9zwqXsceUiwtdLhuUA-7DOLHgNp4QD6

Orchid. Hardcore punk band that has been described as one of the first screamo bands. Doesn't sound like most screamo I've heard. The vocalist doesn't have that typical faggy, wet-screeching scream most screamo vocalists have. I think that's a good thing.

I listen to a whole host of different stuff, but this is just what I'm listening to right now. I usually like a lot of synth but I'm also pretty into funk and jazz. I think a lot of people limit themselves too much with the kind of music they listen to.

I love prog rock, I find it often has very creative songwriting while still being very easy to get into. I'm however still just getting into the genre and I don't want to post obvious artists, so instead here's a videogame soundtrack that stunned me. I haven't even played the game, but I think this is really neat, and I didn't expect to find something like this in a game.

I've barely listened to any dnb, but timeless by goldie has made a great impression on me. It just feels top notch in every way possible.

Recently I've been trying to get into more synth stuff, what would you recommend? So far my favorite find has been suzanne ciani's album titled seven waves. Her following album is more famous, but it lacks some of the magic imo.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RusmM57kAJ4&list=PLJPztq7aAo9yis1OnYgI04ex2WVp0zBWo
I think what sets this aside from most electronic music is how it's not built around a loop. It also sounds like a soundtrack. One thing I like about the first song in particular is the rising and falling synths, how they slowly crawl up on you with a sort of laid back intensity... Great stuff.

>What would you recommend?
That depends on the sorta stuff you're into. Synth is known for its sort of ultra-violent vibe and style.
If you want hard hitting violence and action, then Carpenter Brut's gonna be your go-to. Perturbator is a popular choice but personally I don't like them. CB in particular is known for their mix of smooth and crunchy synth noises that sound like somebody's being beaten to death. Big Nic is another artist that does "action"-ey music, and that's because he's also technically a game developer. His stuff as a particular texture to it that you just can't find anywhere else.
https://youtu.be/wy9r2qeouiQ [Play]
https://youtu.be/Hw2Zzmj7SMg [Play]
If you want something a bit more in-between smooth and hard, then LudoWic is a great choice. He did a good chunk of the tracks on the Katana ZERO soundtrack, but he also does lighter, less violent songs. He's quite a good artist.
https://youtu.be/2MIRa76PDAA [Play]
https://youtu.be/Vu5-eCQiA5A [Play]
On the other end of the spectrum, you have entirely ambient- calm tracks. For this, I'd recommend LustMord. His stuff is... weird, and can be sort of spooky at times, but it's synth and it's ambience.
https://youtu.be/t6zhuFAoC6Y [Play]
https://youtu.be/mbdm5M30kFs [Play]
You can also find several multi-hour streams of "randomly generated" synth ambient music that's really calm and peaceful. I don't listen to them really but that stuff also fits the bill.

There's a whole world out there, go explore.

I liked the whole album, but after a while I was over it. Except for this song. It keeps randomly popping into my head. I think it's because of the verse guitar part, it expresses a specific feeling that I don't hear often elsewhere

70s hard rock forms the core of my typical listening. It's cool, easy to listen to around friends or family, and still can be pretty interesting. I listen to Blue Oyster Cult a lot. Recently mostly these three:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg2ejQdS2FE&pp=ygUaYmx1ZSBveXN0ZXIgY3VsdCB0aGUgdmlnaWw%3D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyLMgIR69G4&pp=ygUvYmx1ZSBveXN0ZXIgY3VsdCB0aGVuIGNhbWUgdGhlIGxhc3QgZGF5cyBvZiBtYXk%3D

Wishbone Ash's '72 album Argus is fantastic from start to finish, but here's some highlights.

I don't want to just post a hundred YT links, but I also like David Bowie, LedZep, Rush, Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, Yes, Black Sabbath, Rush, and more Rush. These aren't very underground but each is worth a deep dive.
Ambient music is good for studying and sleeping. Recently I've been listening to the darker stuff. It's phenomenally soothing. I found this artist through youtube recs. They have a widely varied discography covering vaporwave, electronic, lo-fi, and "post-vapor"(?). All of it is pretty good, from my casual listening.

These next tracks are from a short visual novel called Milk Outside a Bag of Milk Outside a Bag of Milk, sequel to Milk Inside a Bag of Milk Inside a Bag of Milk. I recommend it. The music is a good mix of long ambient tracks and Yume Nikki style loops which do a great job communicating the feeling of the game.

Absolutely nothing in the world evokes the same level of emotion and raw passion in my heart as Ayreon. Almost every single song feels unimaginably special, like it's enchanted or imbued with some sort of magic power. You can feel the raw joy, and love and happiness and goodness that flows through every note. Every wavelength of every album is made with the utmost passion and care. The primal ecstasy of life and living, of experiencing this beautiful world and all of the memories it has to offer, both good and bad.
Nothing makes me feel better. Nothing makes me appreciate life more. I feel blessed beyond belief to be able to hear this splendorous music any time I want, at my own leisure.

I never got into Ayreon because it feels like there is too much to take in. The amount of content just feels like it was put in a blender and the results are unsatisfying. I prefer other rock operas like Avantasia because it feels like the featured vocalists we utilized better.

They were apparently only active from 1995 up until the split in 2000 and then reappeared together on a variety segment show in 2016 for the first time in approximately 14 years which was when the "THANKS 20th Edition 〜Pocket Biscuits Single Collection" was released, and then once again in 2018 but this time it was called a "18-year one-night-only revival" where they performed "YELLOW YELLOW HAPPY" and "POWER" secretly with no prior official announcements which was a major shock to everyone: https://youtu.be/CYObNGw0_Ps [Play] and https://youtu.be/C022PxxzxkI [Play]

These are some of my favorite compositions by Ravel: his string quartet, his chamber piece "Introduction and Allegro for Harp" and the solo piano piece "Jeux d'eau".

Ravel has always balanced being innovative with following tradition, and as a result was hated both by the musical establishment as well as the rebellious new composers of his time. He is remembered today mostly for an unusual composition called bolero, which he himself described as not having any music in it. It is repetitive and hypnotizing. But what touches my heart is his other works, which for some reason speak to me more than mozart or beethoven; they often have a feeling of mystery to them or otherwise a nuanced emotion without however devolving into confusion.

People who live in the East are happy
Because they can be the first to see
The newborn sun

People who live in the North are happy
Because they can feel the joy
Of welcoming spring
More strongly than anyone else

People who live in the South are happy
Because they can always offer
A garland of flowers
To their loved ones

People who live in the West are happy
Because they can always see off the sun
To tomorrow's sky

Living is happiness
Even though there are sad times
Because we can always dream
About the future

Because we can always dream
About the future
