I've been coming back to this game for the past decade + and there's good reason for that. It's by far the most fantastic hero shooter ever made and I think there's no way you'd be able to experience what happens in Team Fortress 2 in any other game.
After half a decade I used to think this game was dead when competitive took the scene and it was such a mess so I took a break thinking I would never return to the game again, but here I am, out of all of the games I could play I still spend all of my free time playing Team Fortress 2.
Every time I see a gameplay video of Team Fortress 2 I get this itch that is so overwhelmingly strong that makes me fire up the game in a instant and get into a server.
Despite the bot problem and how Valve is completely neglecting the game, asking people to do their work for them despite bringing in billions into their company, I don't think any community would have been able to stay alive as much as this one.
I want to discuss with you guys what makes Team Fortress 2 such a fun game from your favorite character, map, and loadout to all of the comics and various updates that changed how the game is played.
Now with webm support I hope we can share a bunch of gameplay footage which can be completely random things like awesome airshots you got, killstreaks, or funny and unexpected moments. Just make sure you can at least blur your name or use an alias people can't find you under.

I never tried out TF2 in its prime, I only played a bit in 2018 and didn't really like it since I only tried Matchmaking. Is there any server currently worth checking out?

The only normal servers I can find that aren't official servers are the Uncletopia servers which have crits disabled which is a big down side in my opinion. The only recent non-normal game mode I tried out was the dodgeball game mode in which you practice air blasting as a pyro against other pyros. I haven't played on any official servers for months so I don't know the state of them but last time I checked they are full of aimbotting bots.

It's nothing impressive just something to get the thread started but this did pump my adrenaline a bit. I especially liked it when spy was laughing in what was now a very quiet room and then you hear how the team respawns and walks out of spawn which kind of demonstrates how drastic the situation was. It was also quite the long game for this to then happen at the last minute. I must say I'm a sucker for compliments so I included that part as well.

Do anons here know about TF2 Classic? That's what I play on the most. It's a fan mod of TF2 with its own servers and game modes that's based on the TF2 Beta, with older maps, weapons styled after old and scrapped ideas, and completely rebalanced gameplay. I think it's miles better than stock TF2, but I don't play it very often because I tend to phase in and out of multiplayer games

I have ideas.
>The Propulveriser
An engine stripped from a small aircraft to be used by Heavy as a primary. When revved up the propellers spin and generate thrust, slowly pulling heavy through the air. Ammo is consumed at a steady rate. If Heavy collides with an enemy while revved up it will dish knockback, but otherwise this weapon is harmless and meant solely as a mobility aid. Heavy could use it to drop sandviches from the sky onto his allies and be a very large and noisy and slow moving target with little opportunity to take cover or return fire.
If implemented this will fix every problem with the game. Please gaben please please please it's a great idea that certainly won't break maps that were never intended to accommodate free flight

I play regularly on Casual and it's not much of a problem with bots depending on what server you get and what time of the day you get on. Although the problem with that comes because you're playing too well and there's barely any really decent players left I'm constantly accused of being a cheater by both teams and then get vote kicked instantly. I feel like during my time playing this game in 2011 through 2015 people were a lot more skilled in playing certain classes compared to now...

You are not allowed to be a good pyro player in casual or you will be constantly accused of being a hacker. The days where I start playing really good I instantly get kicked by my own team that can't phantom the idea of someone playing pyro extremely well such as flare comboing and reflecting the majority of rockets, pipes, hell even stickies so that demos blow themselves up. I'm seriously tired of this... Not even snipers get kicked the amount I'm being kicked from a game.
TF2 casual has been overrun by bots who behave like regular players picking random classes and behaving almost similarly to a regular player. They randomly votekick people and have custom message responses depending on what you type to them to convince the players to not kick them but the person they are votekicking.
After spending 1040 hours on this game I've come to the conclusion that I'm a perma-beg and will never reach the skill level I want to. I wish all the casual players the best.

If you want the context for clip number 5 if I remember correctly it was a extremely sweaty tryhard match which lasted for around 50+ minutes that was resolved by the blue team getting careless.
