I understand there always are whales who are willing to throw an immense amount of money at anything but isn't there a point where one should draw the line? More than half of the game is behind different DLCs sometimes, and other times it's just costume bloat. Worst part is that sometimes the DLC simply stops being available for whatever reason so you'd end up getting permanently blocked from some features or a chunk of a game if you don't pirate or mod it. Will normalfags ever draw a line on this shit or is the industry doomed to continue like this until something drastic happens?
I picked the most offensive images I could find, feel free to share other ones you know.

Why didn't you include the biggest offender of them all? I know that my sister has bought more than half of these on the list.

Because it's EA. That fruit is hanging too low

Why did you let her? You should've pirated it for her or something, at least teach her how to torrent if she isn't a hag already

Well she has no idea of how the concept works and thinks that basically just downloading anything for free that costs money will land her in court. I tried explaining it to her several times now but she gets extreme anxiety from the topic and just does not want to listen. I once had to pirate a plugin for her on one of the adobe suite apps on her computer and she instantly started freaking out and telling me to just go and buy it instead with her credit card. It surprises me too knowing that she's been browsing the internet for almost two decades and she acts this way.

You'd be surprised at how many people think and act like that. Many things that we consider normal like piracy, temporary emails, or even game modding is closer to pagan wizardry to them. Most "normal" people know close to nothing about the internet or technology in general, and even base level knowledge is deeper than what they've ever encountered before. It's a completely different world, which is both infinitely depressing and endlessly fascinating to me

I don't know why some young people these days are scared shitless by petty stuff like piracy. I taught my mother how to torrent movies on her laptop and she got it without much trouble, but then again, she used to pirate games and download emulators for me when I was a kid so she's probably more of an outlier

i remember when 2 dollar HORSE ARMOR for oblivion was considered retarded and "too expensive"
then EA fucked retards over by making the real ending for dead space 3 DLC
doesnt seem like shit is changing for the better.
