I made it to chapter 10 and i forgot the hunter showed up and i dropped my controller. I hate him so much. Another problem is i removed my headphones (which is always a mistake in dead space) and while i was shopping several advanced necromorphs attacked me, and its funny because you can see a bit of the arms in the background but i assumed issac was glitching out. One of those winged necromorphs was spawning the advanced necromorps and there was too many and i fucking died. The good thing nothing was really lost on my end and i made it to the room right when the winged necromorph spawned, which i overpowered before he could spawened anything.
I noticed a chart in game (while i was playing a previous chapter) which showed
a guide for translations to the alien glyphs (it also had a little quote from a survivor "dont believe their lies!)
I managed to translate one sentence as
Unity is forever. Death is only the beginning. Keep us whole!
Why did i fucking miss this? I almost want to re-play the game so i can translate the other stuff.

I found this dead space motion comic on youtube, It was a fun video overall. I think its a prelude to the original game.
What makes isaac an intresting protagonist is that he's a fucking space janny with regular powertools. He's slow as fuck and he gets real emotional (in one case for example at the engineering deck he mourns the loss of all his friends who worked there, another is when he realises that nicole is dead) Unlike most action games where the job is to give the players godhood and to make them feel like rambo. Your tools are shit and even then you run out of ammo real fucking quick. You can't save anyone at all, everyone dies or kill themselves and at some point you actually kill people who where innocent either by hallucination thanks to the marker or on purpose (the part where you let loose all the necromorphs on the soldiers in 2) He always gets the shaft, He falls or is literally thrown into the worst situation possible and even then doesn't get the good ending.

Only once did he give up, but he never bitched nor did he kill himself, He just gets pissed off and picks himself back up again even when the odds are stacked against him.
In the engineering deck there was this one dude who cut off both of his arms so he wouldn't become a necromorph, That was brutal and it gave life to the game. I liked finding stuff like that where it both gave you a taste of how life was on the ship and hints to the background happenings in the story. (it was also a nice touch to use it in a visual storytelling based way, like telling the story of how that one dead dude in a chair did something or why all those people died, and why there was cloning tanks in the ship.)
I don't understand why they have to repeat the bit about cutting off the limbs like if i'm stupid, i think they did it several times where once would have been fine. Maybe it was because of the playtesters who might have forgotten about it since some of them might have been used to action shoot-'em ups. It was refreshing how the game introduced more and diffrent enemies throughout the game instead of relying on the same standard necromorph. I also liked the level variety. It also turns out half of the people on the ship was actually issac going fucking insane, Some of them where just hallucinations like that one guy in the hallway who dissapears and i think some of the necromorphs you kill where actually humans and issac killed them thinking they where monsters because when you go back to a room you'll see a regular dead body instead of a necromorph. The hallucinations in OG deadspace are more subtle but they really are great.
the opening sequence of dead space 2 is still hardcore as fuck lol
its been a while since i last played it, and it was because i got stuck on a hard level a quarter through the game. i bought the dlc for the first time so i think i got what it takes his time around to beat this fucking game.

i'll explain myself better.
dispite the change in tone (survival horror to action horror) and area (from crampt mining vessel to large city) it's still horrifying. the psychological horror is more obvious like dissapearing people from the previous game is now viceral hallucinations. the trade off is interesting because instead of being on a ship where everyone is dead or converted besides a small few, the majority of people are alive and under attack while you are doing shit.
they went for the cinegraphic opening for dead space 2 and it was well figured out, the escape from the looney bin is still memorable as fuck. besides the opening another favorite part is,the escape and the point where you meet up the interrogator who violently frees issac and changes his tone to friendly and kind of mournful, even appologising for all the shit they did to issac before offing himself.
Glen Schofield made a post on shitter about wanting to make a new dead space.
First, thank you so much for the kind words regarding Dead Space. Looking back, EA gave me the support & opportunity to bring it to life. It would be cool to do a new one
-Thanks again!
Why he would want to return to fucking EA is beyond me, Then again what would he do with the IP? If he's smart in my opinion it should be set in the universe, but with a diffrent protagonist with a focus on thd psychological horror aspect of the series. A new dead space with issac would be interesting because what game would be used to continue the series? OG dead space or a remake? would he abandon part two of the series or continue off of 3? the people that did the remake wanted to continue off of THEIR remake with an original story and ignore remaking dead space two, but after low sales of the 2023 game that was shelved.
i get that issac was desperate for a solution but i have no fucking clue how he could trust stross. clearly he's delusional and even if he does have a plan, stross is at his fucking breaking point and i swear the fucker is going to do something.
ellie is a fun character, for whatever reason she reminds me of laura croft, either way its nice to see another survivor who isn't going insane.
this is still a fine game, i like the challenge of the late game and i like the level design and the story. i like the one room with the lovecraft guy and his birds.
i still have to say though its tragic how necromorphs are kinda randomly peppered throughout the game (with exception to the child and baby necromorph) instead of diffrent themed necros per level.
i hope i'm not too vague but in the first game, basically they had diffrent enemies per area, story and situation with twitchers and advanced necros being the late game enemies being with the corruption of the ishimura and the guys from the military ship.
the voice acting was really something when issac saw the ishimura, and you can tell he was fucking terrified. and now i'm personally worried that i have to actually now re enter that place again, just walking in the opening area alone is kind of spooking me.
All of a sudden i'm reminded of my second playthrough of dead space. You see i made it to the point where you make it to the ship. I had all my weapons and items on me and i decided to fuck around to see if there was any hidden goodies and i hit the vent the necromorph was supposed to jump out of and i shit you not he popped out to say "hi". The scary music triggered BUT for whatever reason he wasn't violent, most likely because i don't think he was supposed to spawn yet so he just followed me around and all of those stupid faggots where just standing there asking me to open the door or whatever nonsense BUT THERES A NECROMORPH WHO WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND AND GIVE ME A HUG AND THEY DON'T EVEN NOTICE! Killed him anyway but nothing really came of it besides that one funny thing.
