Did you ever challenge yourself in a game? Put yourself in a situation out of boredom, or to spice up an old game you played before? Did you know of anyone who did a challange that was interesting?
I read Berserkand afterwards i started playing Dark Souls a few years ago and i figured "fuck it, i want my guy to carry a big sword and fuck magic and projectile weapons, i want to beat every retard with the same sword" and then i spotted the elite knight set and i decided to use that entire set for the whole game. i had a ring that gave me more energy, and havels ring and a grass crest shield and i changed nothing besides one time i had to enter the abyss and needed the abyss walker ring to survive.
I also did some minor research into soft and hard caps and basically dumped everything into the stats i needed and ignored the stats i didn't use. basically everything besides faith and magic.
I also found and abused grinding spots for roughly five hours and damn near maxed everything out and i had like 99 liquid souls and 99 regular souls times two on hand incase i lost everything.
Keep in mind i didn't have the master key so i pretty much had to build myself up which took time, wasn't like i was playing on easy mode but i did well for what it was worth. Magic was the gamekiller, i had zero protection and some entry level low grade magic literally damn near insta-killed me and don't talk to me about that blind draggon faggot and his dancing wizard and his crystal caverns, i think i died over 300 times because of him. also the butterfly, in order to survive i took an anons advice and stripped buck naked with only a shield and my zweihander and that battle was difficult as fuck. Also the one eyed dragon nearly got be twice, before i even reached his boss area and halfway through the battle.
Should i have bothered challanging myself before i even played the game? No, But it was actually fun and made the playthrough memorable.
