This thread is an extension of >>>/b/1239/
A dedicated thread for sharing resources on how to draw. This could include digitally scanned books, YouTube videos, art blogs, reference images, drawing software, etc. The material does not necessarily have to be in English, but translations are always appreciated.

I highly recommend using https://www.pureref.com/ for working with references.
Personally, I copy and paste any digitally scanned books I download into PureRef as well and browse through them while drawing. I believe many professionals in the industry use it as well as I found out about it through a 3D modeling course.

For a good starting point go to the 'how to' tag on ex/e-hentai: https://e-hentai.org/tag/other:how+to and you can use something like https://github.com/KurtBestor/Hitomi-Downloader to download the full gallery.
https://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=list&tags=how_to
https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts?tags=how_to&z=5

My personal favorites for anime-style drawing:
https://e-hentai.org/g/3012733/adfe3ceea5/ (Takuya Kakikata English tutorials) https://e-hentai.org/g/3026421/525d0167aa/ (This one is untranslated but has a lot more)

As promised, I've attached some useful notes on perspective. (These are lower res versions than I was previously trying to upload, but they still seem legible.)
I also highly recommend How To Draw and How To Render by Scott Robertson, available here:
https://archive.org/details/how-to-draw-drawing-and-sketching-objects-and-environments-from-your-imagination
https://archive.org/details/Scott_Robertson_How_to_Render
These books go into technical detail on how perspective and light work, so you can draw with great accuracy using this knowledge. Applying the techniques rigorously does take a long time, but even if you don't intend to do that, it's still helpful to understand these principles.

This thread will serve as our starting point to work together as a community and remake the music video for "DAY TRIPPER" by HMO (HATSUNE MIKU ORCHESTRA): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7fAN7_7Gfw [Play] in the style of 22chan.
You can find the full album this video is part of here: http://mikudb.moe/album/zoshoku-gimi-x-near-equal-multiplies/
(If you haven't noticed, the original song is "Day Tripper" by The Beatles.)

A bit about the group that made the original video: HMO started as just one person when Hatsune Miku's voicebank initially released and was considered one of the main VOCALOID producers out there. Their main goal was to recreate songs by the music group 'Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO)', which was active from 1978 to 1983: https://youtu.be/Wmed0gmwzKY [Play]. They also worked hard to make Hatsune Miku's voicebank sing in English. You can basically find a cover from HMO of every album YMO has made utilizing Hatsune Miku's voicebank.
http://hmo.client.jp/

Based on the idea from >>>/b/302/#1653, we'll replace the girl in the music video with someone wearing a suit that resembles Anonymous' outfit, complete with a greenscreen suit underneath. They'll also need to either make or buy a box similar to the one in the music video, place the image from >>>/b/302/#390 inside, and then imitate the poses with the box for a photo or video. Remember, protecting our anonymity is crucial, so don't accidentally reveal your identity. Another great idea mentioned by another anon is to take a picture of yourself and then draw over it which will add a unique touch to the video while protecting your anonimity.
We need to decide on the background, but the initial thought was to collect a variety of interesting website links as if 22chan is visiting different places online. However, I'm considering expanding the options to include stuff like real-life locations or in-game screenshots. What do you think?
For the lyrics, if anyone has some great ideas, we could rewrite them like the lyric rewrite threads on /sewers/ (see: >>>/sewers/756#756). The original lyrics to the DAY TRIPPER video can be found at this link: https://amara.org/videos/F0FkKyXEzb2U/en/287118/ or in this image from the official album: https://files.catbox.moe/f1h0sx.jpg [Show]. If anyone is interested, you can also sing the rewritten lyrics or recreate the vocals in something like UTAU or Vocaloid. On another note, I'm currently working on the UTAU voicebank for Niniba, so stay tuned for that!
We will also need to discuss the original meaning of the video, like is there any meaning as to why this girl is in Akihabara holding the box in these random places? How does it correlate to the song's lyrics? Why does it say X = Multiplies? and so on.
Lastly, it's important to note that when we recreate the video in the style of 22chan, we should base it on the current imageboard culture of 22chan, and not let outsiders inject their unrelated shit into our project.
In my next post, I will try to discuss information about the project a bit more, but again I will link the 22chan software thread because the stuff here will be required to make the video (>>>/b/1239#1239).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4hWMqYCGKQ [Play] This is what the album is based on and HMO's version has similar tracks to this with their own comedy sketches yet they are all in Japanese as to where here some of them are in English (Please listen to it!)
In HMO'S version the comedy sketches (HMO ON THE AIR) also include their own images to represent them visually so I'll upload them as files to this post.
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/X%E2%88%9EMultiplies
The album contains songs recorded between 1978 and 1980.
The American release of the album came about because Horizon Records, which was supposed to release YMO's album "Solid State Survivor" in the U.S., ceased operations. As a result, "Solid State Survivor" was not initially available in the U.S. Subsequently, A&M Records compiled this best-of album, which included tracks from "Solid State Survivor" and the already released Japanese album "増殖" (Zōshoku, translated as "Multiplication").
Haruomi Hosono, a member of YMO, was against the release of "X∞Multiplies" in Japan because it contained the same tracks as "増殖," which had just been released, and he feared it would cause confusion.

X∞Multiplies (Verb, about ongoing increase) - Suggests that something is growing or increasing without end. This could basically be interpreted as the band's creative output multiplying or their influence spreading infinitely, which is why you see the same person multiplied on the cover infinitely.
X≒Multiples (Noun, about similarity) - Suggests a comparison when you add the same number of things over and over, akin to having several versions or instances of a theme or element (basically the same thing as the previous definition). Visually represented by Miku's recurring image on the cover, it symbolizes the replication of her music's essence across the world as if she is taking over?
So with X≒TwentyTwo we are basically saying that X it is in some way similar to or not much different from twenty-two. Basically it could mean that X embodies qualities or attributes that are close to TwentyTwo which I guess is pretty good way to put it?

I was trawling da interwebz for sheet music and found an orchestral score for Day Tripper. It reminded me of this thread and made me think, "is this a good offering to raise a stillborn thread from its little baby grave?" Then I remembered that death doesn't exist on 22chan so it was a silly question anyway

Free music stuff
>DAW (Digital Audio Workstation)
LMMS (Linux MultiMedia Studio) is the best FOSS option I know of. Available on all common operating systems. Highly capable software, just don't pretend it's perfect.
https://lmms.io/download
>SF2 (Soundfont)
Instrument banks used in MIDI tracks
https://archive.org/download/free-soundfonts-sf2-2019-04
This has pretty much everything you could ask for, at least as a beginner. May take some hunting. Contains banks for consoles (N64, Wii, etc.), 8bit, Yamaha pianos, high quality orchestral samples, acapella, and more.
https://rkhive.com/
More old soundfonts
>VST (Virtual Studio Technology)
Audio plugins. Where an SF2 is a bank of recorded samples, a VST is akin to an actual instrument. Uses bespoke UI. Heavier in weight, but higher quality and better customization than SF2s.
http://wokwave.com/old-plugins/html/vst_instrument_plugins.html
A collection of drones, strings, organs, and so on with god-tier UI. Retro sci-fi kind of vibe, mostly inspired by 60s/70s analog synths. Super fun gizmos to mess with. Cromina, Estrima, and Viktor are my favorites. Free, but requires an email.

Delay Llama. A true classic, 2002 era vocal synth. Looks like a funny bald monk.

Alter/Ego is a Vocaloid style plugin by French devs. Cool because it's FREE SHIT. Make sure to get both the Alter/Ego software and voice banks, each is useless without the other. The Plogue program folder will contain an AlterEgo folder, which will have a VST folder housing a .dll that can be opened in your DAW. Plogue>AlterEgo>VST

I was thinking that there is some NSFW content I want to post on 22chan but there had to be a creative way of being able to censor it so it doesn't break the rules. So I drew this which I originally took from the anime ハヤテのごとく! (Hayate the Combat Butler) where for example the protagonist had been cross-dressed in an episode (ep. 8 to be precise) and was attacked by a horny tiger... https://youtu.be/6iM4AK-sN1E?t=112 [Play] The character who is censoring the scene is called 自主規制君 (Jishukisei-kun -> Self-Regulation-kun) which is holding up a sign that says 「見せられないよ! 」-> "I can't show you!" and he appeared many more times throughout the anime censoring parodies with copyright issues, blood scenes, etc.
So because of how he looks somewhat similar to the Gedou-baby (Aka-san) on Nico Nico Douga he was used to censor some Pants Wrestling videos which then spread it to other fandoms as censoring material.
https://dic.nicovideo.jp/a/見せられないよ%21

So if you have anything that's too NSFW to be posted on 22chan I ask you to please use the "Can't show ya!" Niniba. Also feel free to also come up with your own creative censoring material.

'Twas a grim day, when Fat Cat came to town. Fatipher was his given Christian name, but he was not a very Christian cat. He always found the things he took to be more valuable than the things he was given. So, he took the name of Fat Cat and it was Fat Cat that came to town.
Anonymous Thu 16/05/2024 6:12:33 AM 5 months ago No. 53
At the first sight of Fat Cat's unmistakable silhouette, crowds dispersed, shutters were closed, and curtains were drawn. Fat Cat didn't mind. He preferred it this way.
Apart from Fat Cat's own footfalls, the only sound that could be heard was the hum of a hurdy gurdy on the street corner. There sat old Skinny Kitty, cranking away obliviously, his upturned hat no fuller for it.

media is ofted viewed as disposable entertainment viewed, and thrown away. what if instead of glossing over it, we instead examined the art therein?
the goal of this thread is to post actual art you find while consuming media, comic books, screenshots from an anime or movie, manga, the sky is the limit. it can be abstract art, still life or anything, and you don't exactly have to name the source although i'm sure it would be appreciated by others to know where it came from. image related is from berserk.

It has been a while since the last Gunsync thread so I thought I should remake it on the new 22chan with an entire guide to follow in order to make your own Gunsync videos.

https://rentry.org/BeginnersGunSyncGuide (1.0) (DAW: Reaper)
The guide has been crafted with care and an entire pack that you can use from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that includes all of the gun sounds and gameplay footage of every mission that I recorded specifically to be used for Gunsync.
You can contribute to this thread by posting what you create using this guide or ask questions about stuff you might not understand in the guide or need help with.
Any feedback on the guide or the pack would also be appreciated.

I'm going to also include a bunch of videos in this thread that you can use as inspirations for making your own Gunsync videos starting with the best Gunsync ever made in my opinion: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm8269592 [Play]

Originally, I intended to create a simple, short video to encourage participation in this thread, but I guess it evolved into a bit more than that.
The original song is 「メンタルチェンソー」 (Mental Chainsaw), part of a newer Vocaloid series that features songs about everyday annoyances. Therefore, I titled this video "メンタルヴァスケスウザッ" (Mental Vasquez Uzaa (Annoying)).
In my next post, I will provide a brief explanation since it's easy to get lost without a translation, but typically, 音MAD videos are self-explanatory, and viewers understand the references and intentions without guidance.

So if you are wondering why Char from Mobile Suit Gundam is there in the background image it has to do with this legendary video posted on Nico Nico Douga: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2357673 [Play] In this video, someone roleplays as Char from Mobile Suit Gundam, using Call of Duty 4 to simulate war training for Zeon recruits. He plays like a complete failure but acts like he is winning and makes a lot of references to stuff in the anime. (If you haven't seen the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series I highly recommend it.)
I have also provided a translation I made just for the context of this video, but this isn't the first time Char from COD was used in a Gunsync or 音MAD (Sound MAD) here is another video using him as source material: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2816912 [Play]

So at the start of the video here Char is like "I will teach you COD4!"
The Japanese mishearing at 0:07「CoDして欲しいな~!!!」(CoD shite hoshii na) means "I really want to play CoD (Call of Duty)!!!" and so basically my thought for this was that ジャクソン (Jackson) who is basically char in this context is playing COD4 on one of the computers found in the Al Assad room in the Charlie Don't Surf mission.
The Japanese mishearings found at 0:14 are 「シジミー!!」 (Shijimi!), 「勝った 」 (I won), and 「後退 」(Retreat). I also by some chance found the English mishearing at 0:16 "Next Stop Pokemon" which in the context of the video where instead of continuing on these missions Jackson gets left behind playing games such as Pokemon, Resident Evil, and Gundam which are mentioned in the video at some point which is why it says ジャクソン一方で・・・ (Meanwhile Jackson...)
The last two popular mishearings I included were at 0:27 うるっさい!(Shut up!) The full one is usually misheard as "Shut up, Clannad!" which is why in some COD4 Gunsync videos you see clips of Clannad appear. And the last one at 0:29 「もう会いたくない」(切実)(I don't want to see you anymore (Desperately))

Some pretty old unfinished project I managed to find for "What do you mean" utilizing Counter Strike: Source as the source material. I wanted to share it since it has some really decent Gunsync mixing and I'm providing the reaper project file as well as a kind of extension of the guide so you'll know how it was made and maybe learn from it: https://gofile.io/d/vU7HFQ I remember wanting to make a SFM animation with the terrorist of the second time FPS Doug appears.

The lyrics went something like this:
I'm in trouble. I got your back. Too many. Time is running out.
Okay count and wait suddenly report him down. I'm in position. Rock'n go go go. Stick together team. Alright, let's get our enemy. Follow me. You take the point. Team fall back. Taking fire. Cover me

My thoughts being troubled next to me is
A endless splash screen initializing on a local solution
Zeroing a scope with shamefully misaligned shots
I've just started on the next puzzle
Excitement, drawn with a difficult equation
The machine called human cries out

there are several diffrent ways of looking at this thread.
1: you can draw like shit on purpose (for humor or otherwise
2: you post shit art in general because you lack skill and such and post the art you made
3: /ic/ Artwork/Critique, learn from your mistakes and use this thread to improve
DO NOT POST ART OTHERS HAVE MADE, this thread is for original content only.
another goal is to let people hang loose in the sense that they don't need to fear that "im so bad at drawing lol i just shouldn't even post my drawings on 22chan i'll just be banned or made fun of" nonsense, i think unless your a nigger everything should be fine unless you go out of your way to like break the rules or something.

(i'll eventually post my scribbles here when i get the chance)
for whatever reason i am having trouble composing shapes into objects, like turning a oval to a table or something of the sort. i feel like a child and i have no god damn clue what i'm doing. i found a book that has to do with composing shapes and cartooning and i'm thinking that might help me. (cartoon animation by preston blair) my pencil work is for shit and i have a bad habit of putting too much pressure on what i draw instead of scratching lightly. my penmanship is also piss poor and i find that i have a very shakey hand and i am unsure on how to stop that. after dicking around with a compass i also have trouble using it too, it was made to make a perfect circle but i keep fucking it up lol.
i feel like an idiot and i also have no clue on where to go, what to read and so on even though i have: read a few books on the matter, watched a few vids online, and just drawn without really thinking or putting pressure on myself and it feels like i'm going nowhere. i'm not giving up, it just is annoying thats all. i did draw some shitty ms-paint art that people liked on the old site so i shouldn't be too hard on myself but still i know i have a bit to improve on.

Sounds like you're on the edge of a breakthrough, that kind of awareness usually precedes a season of progress. Have you considered leaving behind line entirely? You could try getting a set of soft charcoals and shading forms instead. It'll get your brain working in a different way, even if you don't stick with that method it could do wonders for the way you see lines around you and set them to paper.
Also, examine your grip. Do you draw with the same grip as when you write? If so, you're doing it wrong.
