This /meta/ thread is dedicated to the discussion of the creation of new threads, which would potentially serve as a kind of replacement to the previous "ideas" thread >>>/b/2003.
Many posts outline good thread ideas in detail, but due to laziness or other factors, they never lead to the actual creation of those said threads by the users. So this thread aims to potentially turn those ideas into collaborative efforts instead.
Share any of your potential thread ideas here, whether you plan to create them yourself, seek input from others, or believe someone else could execute them better. It has come to our attention that the site may appear somewhat neglected as of late, and we wish to assure you that there is a valid reason for this.
Our staff has been occupied with the development of a new imageboard software based on the Django framework.
We are excited to present an early preview of our work, which you can access at https://alpha.22chan.org/.
We cordially invite you to participate in our alpha test and appreciate any feedback you might have regarding the site.

How gay would it be to implement a feature similarly to futaba channel's そうだね (Yeah, that's right") which is basically a lightweight agreement counter that has no other social mechanics. A lot of people here don't feel like contributing for various reasons one of them being they don't have anything interesting to add and they don't want to shit up the conversation by adding some meaningless reaction image(?) Whenever I write up a long-ass post and get no reply it does feel like you're screaming into the void but maybe by adding a feature similar to this lightweight counter even if no one is contributing at least I know that they are reading and enjoying my posts?
I get that in arguments it might be kind of stupid since you could just keep increasing the counter on someone you agree with without actually furthering their point, like Reddit or YouTube where it just turns into a battle of whoever has more likes, but outside of that it might not be a bad idea.

I think it's not too unreasonable, but I would make the upvote count be behind a spoiler. I think stuff like number of likes can influence what a person thinks of a post, which is against the spirit of imageboards ("judge a post by its content alone"). But if its hidden, then people get a chance to read the post and form their own opinion before seeing the number of likes.

There is now a "+" next to the dropdown button on each post that lets you increment a counter called "CAT★" You can hover over it with your mouse to see the amount.

Actually I'll keep it non-hidden if the counter is above 0 since it doesn't really have the same meaning as upvotes or likes although if it gets used for that and people find it annoying I'll revert the change. I can also change the counter to only be usable by ips that have posted before.
I think it's also time to write up a FAQ page to explain features on this website.

It seems most of your suggestions were taken into account. As for the internet addiction thread, it definitely fits /yu/ more because its a feeling more than talking about internet culture and history.
The favorite 22chan moments thread is no doubt too meta related to this website, and it seems rather arrogant to put that into the internet culture board, which should emphasize external internet culture for now.
NEET culture or hikikomoris don't really fit Internet culture and history, as there were generations of NEETs prior to the internet. I remember watching an NHK documentary of a shut-in dating all the way back to the 80s, prior to the internet becoming a mainstream hub, and then died 40 years later after his parent deceased after becoming so helpless that he starved himself.

>"What is this?"
22Chan Town Hall was suggested in 2019, but was ignored. In 2020 it was mentioned again but nothing was done about it. 2021 came along and a thread was made but nothing came of it, And later the site shut down. This time, We are actually doing it.
Now back to the main question. Moot had a regular townhall where everyone on 4chan would gather on IRC to have a semi-meta roundtable discussion with all of the userbase, And later it moved to the /q/ board and the format changed to a single thread, We plan on doing the latter. The discussion in the thread can be serious and candid, or just general discussion. (good place for newcomers to get a QRD on 22chan and to know the staff better.)
This thread is to better refine the idea, Suggestions on what to do, Add, Or change, and even polls to decide stuff.
Here are the previous poll results.

What time should 22Chan Town Hall take place?
I.E When are you available? The time zone is in Central European Time.
First place: 9:00 PM
Second place: Staff should decide

How long should 22Chan Town hall last?
First place: 30 Minutes
Second place: For the whole day

When should 22Chan Town Hall occur?
First place: Staff should decide
Second place: Once weekly

Dispite the old results, I plan on setting up new polls. But i have a question. how long should voting last? How many days? Or months even?

While we’ve had discussions on how to increase activity, I want to take a step back and simply ask what you think of 22chan, whether you’ve just arrived or have been part of the community for a while.

How did you find out about 22chan?
What were your first thoughts as you explored the site?
What do you enjoy or hate most about 22chan so far?
Are there features, threads, aspects of site culture, or parts of the site that stand out?
(For instance, is there anything that’s made you feel hesitant to participate, or anything you find especially welcoming?)
For those who’ve been here longer, what keeps you coming back?

>How did you find out about 22chan?
Sometime a while ago, in a different altchan that doesn't exist anymore.
>What were your first thoughts as you explored the site?
I appreciated the quality. It seemed like a small, good, pure place. I found it boring at the time, however.
>What do you enjoy or hate most about 22chan so far?
I don't have much to hate about 22chan other than how dead it is. My favorite part is the fact that it's a small, insular community that cares about itself a lot.
>Are there features, threads, aspects of site culture, or parts of the site that stand out?
The sheer amount of fun, interesting, and quality of life changes made to the traditional *chan format is astounding. The inclusion of the IME Pad and Tegaki are some of my favorites.
However I admit that making posts here can be daunting at times, because it's a site and community that deserves real communication. For people who want to randomly shitpost, they should go to 4chan.
>For those who’ve been here longer, what keeps you coming back?
If I had to be honest, part of it is the lack of any other quality altchans around. If any serious competition comes around, even if the posts aren't as high quality, I'd worry about the health of the community. Something about the people who post here is very... suffocating, and this space has a very "professional" and 'well dressed' feeling to it that isn't as conducive to a huge number of posts. It simply cannot be both a highly active yet high quality chan.

This is a funny nitpick but seeing /vg/ instead of /v/ makes me curious why it was called /vg/, as I am used to seeing Videogame Generals as a distinct thing.
>What do you enjoy or hate most about 22chan so far?
I love love the MP4 embeds. I can't quite make use of the NND embeds yet, sadly.
>Are there features, threads, aspects of site culture, or parts of the site that stand out?
I absolutely adore the IME Pad. It's a phenomenal feature. ♪ ✫ ♡

At a glance certain things I'm familiar with on 4chan in the form of reply functionality not being here are a minor hindrance, but I actually prefer it being a little more of an inconvenience to have to go to the bottom of the page and so on for the sake of making it require effort. It's minimal effort but enough effort to deter undesirables.

I will have more to share in the future. There are also some things I don't know yet and will report back perhaps later on when I've been here awhile.

Some of them can be used but some are just a collection of long text which wouldn't really fit into the quote feature. You also mention posts like 352 which quotes comes from a completely different website. It's just one long and confusing post which you should instead shorten to a small list of your favorite ones that can fit into the home page's quote feature.
